Lady Lancaster Irish Chain 1930-1940's Jacket

LADY LANCASTER

Lady Lancaster Irish Chain 1930-1940's Jacket

$1,600

This quilt jacket is made with an American antique quilt top made circa 1930s to 1940s. It is a very rare quilt pattern! It is a traditional Irish Chain quilt pattern made in a very unusual colorway. The maker was an absolute master. The top is museum-worthy for its quilt pattern, colorway, and tiny squares. If you like to wear your Ethels inside out and upside down, this is a great jacket for you. In our opinion, this piece is super soft, thin, lightweight, and has a great drape. It is a dream to wear. This is a Lady Lancaster 10/10.

  • The shawl collar allows for several different style options. This jacket is meant to be worn right side up or upside down.
  • This jacket has two clear snaps that disappear into the fabric at the bottom of the shawl collar to help the lapel drape nicely.
  • The Aunt Ethel has slouchy shoulders and a generous fit, keeping in line with its bohemian roots.
  • One Size Fits Most

Please note that many of our jackets are made from antique quilts and the fabrics reflect this. Some of our fabrics are older than 100 years and we believe that makes them perfectly imperfect. This is what makes them a one-of-a-kind piece of art. All of our garments are pre-washed in a special restoration quilt wash. We recommend spot cleaning if necessary.
