The smaller, more uniform scales offer greater flexibility and are less prone to cracking than larger scales. Because reptile leather can dry out between the scales over time, regular conditioning is recommended. Apply a light coat of leather conditioner, especially between the scales, after cleaning off dust and dirt. With proper care, alligator and crocodile leather develop a beautiful high shine that lasts.
